For many students, graduates, and members the Alpha Zeta Eta (AZH) chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at North Lake is more than an honor society.
It has become a second home. With a mission of scholarship, leadership, service and fellowship, AZH helps community college students go beyond the classroom to become community leaders.
To be invited to become a member of PTK, students must maintain at least a 3.5 GPA and finish a minimum of 12 college-level credit hours. This guideline ensures that members are recognized for their academic excellence and their future success potential.
AZH plays a significant role in shaping its members’ futures by coordinating campus-wide service initiatives and leadership workshops as well as helping students obtain scholarships and resources.
The chapter frequently hosts activities such as first-year student support groups, college transfer presentations and community outreach programs.
The AZH chapter has received numerous Phi Theta Kappa Hallmark Awards for its research, community service and chapter development. Its active role in local and global meetings shows the chapter’s focus on quality and new ideas.
The support doesn’t stop after graduation. The AZH alumni network continues to support and mentor current members, offering advice on university transfer opportunities and sharing tips on career choices and leadership development. Past members frequently return to discuss their experiences and inspire the next generation of PTK scholars.
