North Lake campus held a student art exhibition featuring drawings, paintings, sculptures, ceramics and musical performances.
The event took place Oct. 24 in the gallery where students received awards in various categories.
According to the website, Dallas College supports student and local artists by providing gallery space to exibit their work.
The galleries are open to the public and serve as places to learn about and enjoy art. They also encourage people to think and talk about how art connects with our lives and communities.
The Best of Show award was presented to Amanda DeCesaro, for the ceramic bull head, The Highland.
Dallas College has been collecting art since the 1960s and now has a collection of more than 1,000 pieces. The collection helps students, teachers, and the public appreciate their work. Individual works are also used in classes to teach and inspire students.
The Fall 2024 Student Arts Show is on view through Nov. 27. It’s free to visit.
