North Lake’s Blazer baseball team delivered a dominant performance in a doubleheader against Twin City Post Grad, securing back-to-back wins with scores of 10-0 and 11-1.
These victories mark North Lake’s fourth consecutive win and bring the team’s season record to an even 5-5 as they look to build momentum moving forward.
In the first home game on Feb. 7, North Lake’s pitching staff put together a flawless performance, combining for five scoreless innings while allowing just two hits and striking out eight.
Manning Whitehead (#23) led the charge, striking out two in the opening inning. He was followed by Matthew Wendorf (#33), Isaac Delgado (#20), Simon Baker (#18), and Logan Walp (#24), who each kept Twin City completely shut down.
The Blazers wasted no time at bat. They got on the board with Isaac Garcia (#4) leading the way. He went 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Jacob Binder (#1) and Lincoln Skinner (#11) each ripped triples, while Leo Salas (#27) added a double.
Parker Burt (#25) and Shaun Williams (#7) also drove in runs, contributing to North Lake’s commanding 10-run performance.
The momentum carried over into Game 2, where North Lake continued to dominate, cruising to an 11-1 win.
The team came alive, collecting 11 runs on 11 hits, with Brayden McCallum (#22) leading the charge by going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBIs.
Ayden Franco (#17) followed with a 2-for-2 performance, driving in two runs. Terence Randall (#5) stole two bases, putting pressure on Twin City’s defense, while Skinner (#11) and Juan Flores (#21) also swiped bags.
Daniel Lopez (#12) started strong on the mound, allowing just one run over two innings. Isaac Lopez (#10), Jacob Ayala (#19), and Grant Kline (#15) then combined for three scoreless innings, striking out four batters and shutting down any hopes of a Twin City comeback.
With these two decisive wins, the Blazers look to maintain their momentum as they prepare for their next challenge
