North Lake Campus recently held a lively Welcome Bash to kick off the fall semester.
The Aug. 28 event was planned by Student Life with help from Phi Theta Kappa and Student Government Association.
The return week party was filled with food, entertainment and opportunities to socialize with other students.
They served delicious buffet of burgers (including vegan burgers), traditional baked beans, potato salads, brownies, popsicles and iced tea.
A brief survey was used to choose the best summer movie and “Wolverine & Deadpool” came out on top.
There were many of opportunities to mix and mingle during the celebrations with activities that included pool, ping-pong, and karaoke.
“We have a ping pong table out here for people to get good with their hands and (learn) how to play (ping) pong,” said Antonio Soresh, coordinator of Student Life and Engagement.
“We’re promoting all our Office of Student Life and engagement programs and opportunities.”
The pool table, air hockey and other games are available to students throughout the whole semester.
Equipment can be checked out using a student ID card at the Student Life offices.
“This is my second semester, but the first welcome bash and it is very much fun,” said North Lake student Loren Fremel.
A karaoke session was held during the event where student went up to the stage and showcased their talent.
“I am performer. And I do acting, singing and dancing and karaoke so that’s one of my favorite things to do,” said North Lake student Gage Jerke.
Student Life served around 100 people during the event.
The students left the party with happy faces and ready to start the semester.
