The school food pantry at North Lake Campus is open throughout the semester. Dallas College provides food to help students meet their basic needs to help with the pressure of daily living.
“The food pantry is really helpful especially for students. We serve a lot of people who come in here they are very appreciative of what we serve,” said Otsile Tsapo, an international student worker who has been with the pantry since the spring semester.
The food pantry provides students with white rice, pasta and canned foods to meet their basic needs. Fresh fruits and vegetables are available monthly, depending on the delivery. Students can pick up these items free of charge in Building A building, Room 255. No eligibility is required. As long as you are a student, you are encouraged to seek support without hesitation.
The food pantry also has snacks, sometimes energy bars and even coffee for students, faculty and staff. In addition to food, the food pantry supplies hygiene products, such as towels, toothbrushes and soap. They also provide baby diapers for students who need emergency supplies for their children.
Every Friday, the food pantry opens to the community to provide support for North Lake’s neighbors in need, strengthening the community through care.
