It’s October, and the Halloween spirit has officially taken hold across the Dallas College campuses. Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) and Student Programs and Campus Engagement (SPACE) are hosting the North Lake Halloween Bash on Oct. 29 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Student Life, Room H 200.
As stores and streets are being transformed into haunted landscapes, PTK and SPACE are preparing a memorable Halloween for students. “Beyond the Grave,” is the theme again this year. It has been updated this year for more fun.
According to Benjamin Donnells, SPACE commander at North Lake, the program includes chills, thrills and creativity. There will be a costume contest, zombie tag, dancing, laser tag, a scavenger hunt, face painting, photo booth and haunted musical chairs.
Costumes remain a core part of the event. Donnells invites students to come in a costume and have fun. “Don’t make your costume too gory,” he said. The festivities will be a time for entertainment, creativity and camaraderie.
SPACE is also preparing a Cultural Heritage Fair in November. The day and time are still pending, according to Donnells. However, he invites students to join the fair.
“If any students are interested and want to show off their heritage and their culture, come talk to us, and then we’ll help them set up a table,” said Donnells. Those who are interested in participating should contact Benjamin Donnells, Mara Dillman or Cecilia Nguyen in Student Life.
