Mavericks offering discounted tickets

The Dallas Mavericks will offer discounted tickets to Dallas College faculty, staff, family and friends.

Ernest Rangel, senior premium sales executive for the Mavericks, said that discounted tickets vary in price that depend on the Maverick’s opponent.

Fans may purchase lower baseline tickets as well as affordable upper-level tickets. The purchase quantity is limited to 20 tickets per game, subject to seat availability.

Communication student Ana Mata is not the biggest basketball sports fan, but she likes the Mavericks team because they are involved in helping the community.
Mata plans to take advantage of the student discount to experience the Mavericks play in person for the first time before she graduates from North Lake.

Jared Earley, a North Lake Campus radio/t.v. and broadcasting student, said he had gone to several Mavericks games.

“I have been to probably 30 games in my life, and my brother has season tickets this year, so I’m probably going to go to another 30 games just this year alone,” Earley said.

Earley said he saw Phoenix Sun’s Chris Paul, a future hall-of-famer, play when he attended his first basketball game when he was 10. This was during Paul’s first years in the league.

“It was amazing,” Earley said. “He scored like 40 points. It was so awesome.”

This season, Earley said he is excited to see the Mavericks go against the New York Knicks because the Knicks recently signed Jalen Brunson, who played with the Mavericks from 2018-2022.

Earley is also looking forward watch the Mavericks take on the Los Angeles Lakers, who have Lebron James, a four-time NBA champion.

Rangel said that the game against the Lakers would not be available to purchase at a discounted price because of limited inventory.

Rangel said a Holiday Game Pack is also available to local Dallas-Fort Worth residents if they want to see the Lakers, Oklahoma Thunder and Houston Rockets.

Earley said he would recommend first-timers to watch the Mavericks go against the Minnesota Timberwolves, who are scheduled to play on Feb. 13.

Earley said that the Timberwolves’ Rudy Gobert, Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards are players that will be fun to watch.

“They [Timberwolves] have a lot of star power in the team,” Earley said.

The Mavericks opened the season with a road loss against the Suns on Oct. 19. The Mavericks won its home opener against the Memphis Grizzlies on Oct. 22.

The Mavericks look to bounce back from last season’s success as they reached the Western Conference Finals. Mavericks All-Star Luka Doncic is the favorite to win MVP this season, according to Vegas Insider.

Tickets will be available at mavsgroups.com/dallascollege. The Maverick’s last home game is at the American Airlines Center on Apr. 9.
