North Lake Campus ceramics students sold their handmade artwork as part of a department fundraiser Nov. 4-5. The event coincided with the Student Art Exhibition awards ceremony, making it a highlight of the fall semester for the art department.
“Students donated their ceramic pieces as well as their time,” said Alex Ferrante, full-time faculty in the studio art program. “One hundred percent of the proceeds go back to the North Lake Studio Art Fund, and that fund helps us host visiting artists and support community events. We aim to return that money right back into the community.” He said the sale is both a fundraiser and a showcase of student achievement.
Students and visitors browsed a variety of handmade pottery from mugs and bowls to artistic sculptural pieces. All purchases support the future of the program.
